Strut Your Mutt Halloween Pageant
Halloween isn’t just for humans – include your pups, too! This year’s Strut Your Mutt Halloween Pageant features a costume contest (for dogs) with great prizes, live music, and a photo station featuring the BIG Pumpkin! Be sure to look for the pumpkin trick-or-treat bags hanging in the windows of local storefronts to take advantage of trick-or-treating with plenty of treats for your pup!
Trick Or Treating On The Lawn
Trick or Treating on the Lawn is an annual Charlottesville Halloween event UVA students hold annually! Since the 1980s, students of the Lawn and Range communities have been opening rooms to visitors and handing out treats. Hundreds of families participate yearly and show their UVA spirit while in costume!
Trick Or Treat At The Dairy Market
Trick or Treat at the Dairy market is a special collaboration between each of the market’s merchants. Kids of all ages are welcome to come by in costume and visit each merchant for a delicious treat. Grown-ups can also pick up a drink or a snack to stay satisfied!
Boo Bash
Boo Bash at the Virginia Discovery Museum is a family-friendly carnival full of games, activities, and crafts. Try your hand at conducting experiments and concocting potions, dancing in the glow-in-the-dark Monster Mash Room, and much more! Additionally, take home a prize from the Little Shop of Prizes, and don’t forget to grab a Baggby’s cookie to decorate at home.
Park Street Coffee House – Halloween Concert
Fall is the perfect time to get cozy, so head on out to the Park Street Coffee House (located inside Park Street Christian Church) for a lovely evening! Grab a warm cup of something delicious and settle in to enjoy local singer-songwriters Jon Tyler Wiley and Justin Trawick with friends and family.
Trunk or Treat
Trunk-or-treat events are a great, safe alternative (or addition!) to your regular trick-or-treating traditions. Join Aldersgate Church in their parking lot for a festive and fun event. There will be food, live music, bounce houses, games, and crafts to keep kids entertained – and, of course, LOTS of candy!
The Halloween Hangout
The Halloween Hangout at Hilldale Homestead, a 200-year-old historic farm, is a blast for visitors of all ages!
