If you live anywhere near Virginia wine country, you have to check out Veritas Illuminated. Only in its second year, this incredible event transforms one of Virginia’s most established wineries into a true Winter Wonderland. Keep reading to learn more about this spectacular holiday event!
About Veritas Illuminated
Veritas Winery was one of the first cutting-edge wine establishments in Virginia. After raising their three children in Florida in the 90s, English owners Andrew and Patricia took a leap of faith and decided to pursue their passion for wine. They purchased what was then known as Saddleback Farm, a horse and cattle farm. Patricia planted several acres of grapes, and by 2001, they were producing their first vintage of wine.
Patricia and Andrew, and their three children have worked hard to transform Veritas into the destination and emblem of hospitality it is today. Their wines are beautiful and balanced, born from old-world principles of viticulture (grape-growing) and new-world innovative takes on viniculture (winemaking.) Their tasting room offers a luxury wine-tasting experience, tours of their production facilities, gourmet treats, and lunches made and served in-house.
Additionally, The Farmhouse at Veritas is a gorgeous onsite bed and breakfast that offers luxury accommodations to visitors from far and wide (adults only, however.) The restaurant located within the Farmhouse serves incredible farm-to-table meals and an effervescent Sunday Sparkling Brunch with bottomless mimosas.
Christmas Fun!
After a wildly successful inaugural year, Veritas Illuminated is returning for a second time. At this exquisite event, the Veritas vines and groves of trees light up with spectacular holiday lights and decorations. Stroll hand-in-hand with your partner or carry your little one in your arms. You’ll stroll the half-mile walking path through the woods and vineyards, taking in the sights surrounding you. This year, there are even more lights, two illuminated tunnels, lit stepping stones, and much more.
You can cozy up beside a toasty fire pit at the end of your journey, sipping wine or hot chocolate. You can even buy fixings for sweet, indulgent s’mores! Just be sure to dress for the occasion; it can get a little chilly on those cool winter nights!

Are you looking to get a little more out of your Veritas Illuminated Experience? Make it even more special with a reservation at the restaurant at the Farmhouse at Veritas. Their chef will serve a four-course dinner with Veritas wine pairings every night of Veritas Illuminated. Enjoy an early show and then cozy up inside for an incredible meal.
If that’s not quite enough, you can also reserve a room at the Farmhouse at Veritas for a romantic overnight stay. Your reservation will include admission to the event, so you can take your time savoring every sparkling light as you wander.
