Babies transform your life in the most amazing way. Suddenly, there’s a brand new person who loves your silly jokes and warm snuggles. And while most of these changes are incredible, your free time is about to go out the window. This is why I positively love the idea of a babymoon. Whether you’re getting ready to meet your first baby or preparing for baby number three, it’s always great to schedule some time to connect with your spouse and unwind before your due date. If you’ve been looking to get away, I’d love to tell you about the three best babymoon destinations in Virginia!

3 Babymoon Destinations in Virginia for the Ultimately Relaxing & Special Getaway

Massanutten Resort

This incredible mountain resort filled over 6,000 acres with year-round fun and relaxation in the mountains. The resort has a history spanning all the way back to the original health resort known as Rockingham Springs in 1875. This original resort relied on the “restorative powers” of its natural spring water and brought in visitors from all over Virginia. This eventually fell into disrepair and closed in 1915. But in 1968, the great-grandson of the original owner decided to start the journey to re-open the resort under the new name, Massanutten. After another 50 years and millions of dollars for development, you can now do everything from farmers’ markets, golf, and waterparks to live concerts, luxury dining, and spa days!

If relaxation is high on your Virginia babymoon destination list, then this is the place for you! Whether you are looking for nature or luxurious spas, they have it at Massanutten. Their spa is a one-stop shop for recharging yourself. Start with a massage or couple’s massage, then move on to a facial, hydra facial, or nail care! They have it all here, even an infrared dry sauna. This system uses light to heat you instead of the air and works 30-100% faster than a traditional sauna.

If you are looking for more outdoor fun, then be sure to check out their concert and live events series. All year round, they host festivals, local art shows, and concerts for their guests out in the open air. You can also choose where you want to stay. You can either stay on the mountain or down in the valley. Choose from luxurious villas, full condos, or resort hotels. All of them will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the next steps of your motherhood journey!

Hummingbird Inn

Hummingbird Inn is a historic bed and breakfast located in Goshen, Virginia. The inn has rooms dating back to 1780 and has hosted guests such as Eleanor Roosevelt. The owners have renovated the space with couples in mind. During your stay, you can book either the private cabin or one of five rooms in the main building. They have special packages, including one specifically for babymoons.

When you purchase their babymoon package, you’ll have the option of either the Alleghany or the Stable View room with a jetted bathtub in your private bathroom. You can also upgrade to the cabin, where you’ll get all the amenities in your private space. You’ll receive delicious chocolate as well as non-alcoholic sparkling beverages.

Each morning, you’ll wake up to a full breakfast, and at night, you’ll get the chance to enjoy some milk and cookies. The inn offers activities such as one-hour massages and carriage rides. You’ll get a special gift for the baby and a $50 gift card to a romantic restaurant. It’s the perfect solution for couples looking for a chance to unwind before the baby arrives.

Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast

Brierley Hill Bed and Breakfast is another premiere Shenandoah Valley inn. This cozy space surrounded by breathtaking views was built in 1993 in Lexington, Virginia. The inn is near beautiful hiking trails, fantastic restaurants, and historical monuments. You’ll have access to carriage rides and museums. Of course, I wouldn’t blame you if you spent the whole time at the inn enjoying the sites and the Southern hospitality!

When you purchase the babymoon package, you’ll be greeted with cider and flowers in your room. You’ll be given a keepsake from the bed and breakfast, and you’ll be able to enjoy a complimentary dinner through the Southern Inn Restaurant. The inn has eight different rooms to select from, and you’ll be treated to the inn’s homemade breakfast every morning.
