About Blue Ridge Music Together
Blue Ridge Music Together is a locally-owned space founded by Estela Knott and Dave B., a couple who has always loved music. Before opening the center, the pair traveled along the Western Hemisphere, experiencing how music moves people. When it was time to start their own family in 2008, they moved back home to Virginia and opened up BRMT. Ever since, families have seen how the power of music has helped their kids grow. Dave and Estela have grown their team to include teachers who have completed the Music Together teacher training while having their own music projects. BRMT has four different locations across Charlottesville and Crozet.
Services
Blue Ridge Music Together provides seasonal classes that take place for 9-10 weeks. Before enrolling, you’re able to schedule a free trial to make sure the space is right for your family. All the classes are mixed ages, letting every kid join together in engaging songs. Kids will be able to pick up instruments and play alongside the teachers. They’ll dance, sing, clap, and move to songs from across the globe. And while these classes are certainly fun, they’re also incredibly educational. Your child gets to learn lessons while experiencing different musical elements as well as how cultures across the globe engage in the art. Because parents are invited to sing along, it’s a great way to bond with your child. The classes not only bring together different ages but also children of different abilities. No matter what, your child will have a space in the circle!

Blue Ridge Music Together can continue to soundtrack your child’s day even after the classes are over. The center provides CDs as well as apps so you can keep the songs going. BRMT believes in the cumulative power of music. They encourage you to keep playing the songs as your child gets older so they can continue to build on the important lessons they’ve already learned.
