Holly Days
The Virginia Discovery Museum is a beloved family favorite in our community, dedicated to inspiring children to be avid lifelong learners. While their engaging exhibits are entertaining all year round, Holly Days at Highland is a beautiful celebration of the winter season. Enjoy seasonal crafts, artisanal activities, and traditional holiday storytelling. Warm cider and donuts will be available to enjoy as you create ornaments, forage for foliage, and dip candles, all set amongst the picturesque and historic James Monroe’s Highland estate.
Holiday Bazaar 2023
The Charlottesville Waldorf School’s annual Holiday Bazaar is a beautiful way to experience hands-on crafting and making while celebrating the joys of the holiday season! Try your hand at candle-dipping as you make your beeswax candle, or make a one-of-a-kind winter wreath. Various crafters and small businesses will sell their products on-site, and the Secret Garden will be open to browse other sweet handcrafted gifts. Food trucks, live music, puppet shows, and more will also be there at this Charlottesville Christmas event!
Veritas Illuminated
Veritas is one of the area’s premier vineyards, wineries, and tasting rooms set on acres of gorgeous farmland. First and foremost, however, they are still a family-run business and love welcoming others to share in their love for their land and community. They are transforming part of their property into Veritas Illuminated for the second winter in a row. This stunning, immersive, self-guided half-mile walk through the woods and vineyards has twinkling lights for a truly magical experience.
Winter Wander
The Boar’s Head Resort hosts the exquisite Winter Wander Trail of Lights each holiday season. This stunning, illuminated lakeside stroll is brightly lit with lights of every color. It creates a truly magical experience for guests of all ages. Several of their features are perfect photo opportunities, like the Dogwood Alley lit with stunning lanterns and the dazzling Tunnel of Lights. You can also try their Artificial Ice Skating, gliding along a synthetic-surfaced ice rink – whatever the weather!
Magic On The Mall
Magic on the Mall is an ongoing seasonal celebration that offers a variety of exhibits, performances, and activities for visitors of all ages. Events include Selfies with Santa, the festive Jolly Holly Trolley, and live performances every Sunday afternoon. There’s also the Elves in Cille event, a magical scavenger hunt led by Santa’s elves. Follow The Peppermint Trail on the sidewalks of Downtown Charlottesville. Discover all sorts of treats like candy cane coffees and craft cocktails.
