Growing up, my family always put up an artificial tree at Christmas time and so did my husband’s family so when we first got married, the idea of cutting down our own tree to have in our home quickly became a fun new tradition! Over the years, our children have always loved the process of hunting for our special tree. And of course, the process of getting down on the ground and cutting it is simultaneously hilarious, strenuous and fun! For many years, we have gotten our trees exclusively from Every Soul Acres (formerly known as Evergreen Tree Farm) in Keezletown, VA. Their farm is gorgeous, their trees are well cared for and the farm owners are amazing, caring people!
If you’re looking to start a new tradition this Christmas season or just looking for a new place to find a live tree, definitely check out Every Soul Acres or one of these other local Christmas tree farms.
If you want to shop locally but don’t want to cut down your own tree, you can get a pre-cut tree from one of the local farms listed above, such as Every Soul Acres! Also, Ratliff Tree Farm in Timberville exclusively sells their locally pre-cut trees in a lot at 2265 South Main Street in Harrisonburg. You can get more information here.
I hope that this list helps you and your family start a new tradition! I definitely recommend visiting Every Soul Acres for all your Christmas tree needs and to have a great family experience!
