InMotion School of Dance is a dance studio and dancewear store in Harrisonburg, Virginia. It came to fruition in 2002 to create a studio that teaches proper technique and proper training and also helps increase self-esteem, self-discipline, and a sense of individuality in a safe, loving, supportive environment where everyone feels like family. InMotion also strives to encourage dancers to be well-rounded and accomplished, with a strong basis in proper dance technique.
Furthermore, InMotion is a Christ-centered environment where students and families incorporate worship into all performances. The gift of dance is a blessing and should be shared with the community. The studio offers ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, acrobatics, and many more styles of classes.
Performances include the annual Spring Recital and Christmas show. There are also summer camps, a traveling Summer Praise group, and a storefront that provides all dancewear needs, including leotards, tights, skirts, and shoes.
Services
InMotion School of Dance offers weekly classes based on different styles and levels. All classes include a warm-up, conditioning, exercises to practice technique and choreography. The school’s annual Christmas production follows a spiritual praise theme to echo the Christmas season. The Spring Recital occurs the weekend after Memorial Day, and this is a chance to showcase everything they’ve learned during the spring semester.
InMotion offers a variety of summer camps for kids of all ages. The Explore Dance camp is a great place for quick exposure to all types of dance and styles and is a fun camp for everyone. The Aspire Ballet camp is an excellent introduction to ballet technique and choreography. It is the perfect starting point for anyone who wants to be part of the Ballet Cast when they are old enough. Specialty
InMotion offers advanced programs for older dancers. PrePointe accommodates 5th grade and older. Senior Ballet Cast is open for 6th graders and older. InMotion Perform is offered for 6th grade and older. Additionally, Student Assistants can be kids in 7th grade or older.
InMotion offers StrengthenUp classes with Betsy Dean Dancing Fitness. These classes are optimal for all fitness levels and include strength training and cardio dance, set to positive music. These classes care for the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. Moreover, this is a great way to enjoy fun routines choreographed to upbeat music. Hand weights are also optional. All ages and fitness levels are welcome!
This studio also offers a store in Harrisonburg for all your dancewear needs. The store features a collection of shoes, leotards, skirts, shorts, pointe accessories, and much more!
