Virginia has gotten a bit of a reputation for its hot summers. While the rising temps are great for lazy days at the pool, they can be less than ideal for keeping your child entertained. Whether you’re dealing with heat advisories or inclement weather, one of the best things you can do for your family is have a list of different places to go when you need to get out of the house but don’t want to be outside. If you’re looking for indoor things to do in Winchester, VA, I’d love to give you a list of some of my family’s favorite spots!
The Little Gym is a national chain that specializes in getting kids moving! The gym has a full schedule of classes for kids ages 4 months-12 years. Your child will start out working alongside you to learn foundational tumbling moves. As they get older, they’ll be able to work independently. The course offers dance classes on top of their gymnastics courses. You can buy individual classes or purchase a premium membership that gives you two sessions a week. The Little Gym hosts birthday parties as well as Parents’ Night Outs. You can check out the indoor Winchester, VA location at 3107 Valley Avenue, Suite 102.
Shenandoah Tumblers Gymnastics is a local gym staffed by trained instructors. Since 1991, the center has worked hard to instill a love of gymnastics in all kids. They offer a 15,000-square-foot training facility that’s fully air-conditioned. So your family is always comfortable. The center also offers Mommy & Me classes for walkers. From there, they can try out developmental courses that will allow them to build up crucial skills. Their gymnastics classes continue up to the age of 11, and from there, your child can start out on Cheer and Tumbling. The gym provides free trials! So you can try before you buy. Check them out at 221 Commonwealth Court.
