About Belle Grove Birth Center
The Belle Grove Birth Center, located at 7760 Main St Middletown, VA 22645, was the first freestanding birth center in Virginia to be licensed by the state and was founded by Tammy and Steve Oswald in 2001. The Oswalds were inspired to create a birth center after the birth of their fourth child, which took place at home with the inspiring and wholesome guidance of a midwife.
They recognized the need for a safe and comfortable environment for women to give birth outside of a hospital setting from their own experience. The Oswald family wanted to help others have their own positive experiences in a comforting environment. They set to work thoughtfully to create a fantastic birthing space the women in their community could turn to.
Over the years, they expanded with a team of midwives, nurses, and support staff passionate about providing high-quality, confident, personalized, comprehensive, and well-informed care to women and families. The center has helped thousands of women give birth in a safe, supportive environment and has proudly become a leader in the birth center movement in Virginia and beyond!
