JMU Student Organizations For Everyone

Out of the 1,521 colleges in America, James Madison University was named #22 for the best student life. Every semester, over 400 clubs and organizations get together for the student organization night. You’ll be able to browse through and find one where you’ll be a perfect fit. There are clubs for every religious denomination, ethnicity, and sport. Read with a book club, try out a game of quidditch, study poetry, or learn a new language. The Center for Multicultural Student Services has over 33 organizations that will let you embrace diversity and reconnect with your faith amongst new friends. 

The fraternities and sororities at JMU feature over 4,200 students involved in Greek life. The groups begin recruitment at the beginning of each semester and let you network with alumni all across the nation.

Specialty

Student Organizations at JMU are passionate about community service, and many use their break time to give back. You’ll be able to get involved through the Community Engagement and Volunteer Center. The college also provides the Alternative Break Program every fall and spring. You can join with over 500 students to volunteer all across the country. Students use this time to study climate change, assist unhoused populations, and volunteer with mental health centers. These programs are so popular there tends to be a waitlist, so sign up early!
