About Lavender Lactation
Jamie Haushalter, a lactation consultant with both professional and personal experience, founded Lavender Lactation. Jamie has always felt led to help parents with breastfeeding. But following a family move to Charlottesville in 2020, she decided she wanted to make it her career. She had already honed her skills while working as an inaugural member of the UNC Chapel Hill Newborn Nursery Nurse Practitioner Service for over 10 years.
After struggling with breastfeeding her first little one, she discovered her passion to truly support, serve, encourage, and advocate for families trying to breastfeed. In 2015, became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Today, she has three kids and loves sharing her experiences with other moms. Especially other moms of twins!
Services
Through Lavender Lactation, Jamie provides personalized in-home and virtual lactation care. She’ll start by coming to your house and providing a comprehensive assessment to get to the root of any problems. These sessions typically last about an hour and a half. But her work does not stop there.
Lavender Lactation specializes in a series of four classes to help moms learn everything they need to successfully breastfeed every time. Above, she strives to help them feel confident in their motherhood journey. Over her four classes, she covers everything from birth and tools that help the process and breastfeeding process to swaddling, sleeping and general care for your new little one. But with her years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse and caring for her own children, she comes with a HUGE amount of knowledge to help guide you.
Specialty
If an in-home visit doesn’t work for you, Jamie also offers virtual help. While this option isn’t as ideal, Lavender Lactation will work with you to assist with any problems. Jamie can provide virtual prenatal visits that let you ask any questions and get you prepared for those first feedings.
